The Last Dance Away
Sun, 3 Jul 2011 I received the following message via email
The Unitarian Program Council recently voted as
follows:
- Dance-Away will not be held at USSB after this July.
This program was not “mission critical", lost money, and was using
valuable facility space. All agreed that there should be some
acknowledgement for this decades-long program.
- The USSB "mission":
- To inspire through meaningful worship, music and other programming.
- To offer religious education for all ages.
- To care for one another.
- To promote peace, justice and understanding.
- To invite others to share our tradition of social action and freedom of worship.
- To engage in the larger Unitarian Universalist Movement.
- Finances - Dance-Away cost USSB $1,000 this past year.
- The continuing increase in USSB members means more demand for the facilities.
A email list has been created to discuss the future of Dance Away. You can join at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/danceaway/ or by sending an email to danceaway-subscribe@yahoogroups.com .
