52. How to Create a PageBuilder Website

1. Go to your Web Home screen (the one you see when you log on to WebTV.) At the bottom, left-hand corner, click on the word More

2. A popup box will appear. Click on Page Builder. You will see an introduction page. Click on Continue.

3. You should now see the license agreement. Click on I accept.

4. Click on Create

5. Choose a page style. (There are 6 pages of "styles" from which to choose. Find the others by clicking on the "plus sign" in the top-right corner.) Your choice can always be changed later!

6. You should now see the following: Choose this to add a title to your document. Click on those words to name your webpage. It is advisable to use as short a name as possible. The name you choose will be part of the URL, or website address of your site. However, leaving it blank is OK, too. PageBuilder will assign it a short name, like doc.

Below the title you typed, you will see a box with a checkmark in it. and it says, "Show this title on your page." It is your personal choice to leave the checkmark or remove it.

Click on Done.

7. Click onto Add an item.

8. Click on Text. You will see two text boxes. The smaller one at the top is for adding a "title" for the larger text box below it. Many choose to not enter anything in the smaller "title box."

You may use the larger box where it says, "Type your text here" to type any kind of introduction to your page. What you type here is limited only by your imagination and the Terms of Service to which you have agreed.

9. At the bottom of the page, choose a size and style for your text.

10. Click on Done.

11. Click on Publish (on the left sidebar.)

12. You will now see the "Title and description" page. If you have previously typed a title, it will show in the first box. If you did not type one earlier, now is your chance to name your page. The name you choose will be part of the URL, or website address of your site.

The second box is for a description of the site. If you choose to make your webpage public (see #14 below), this description will be shown in the index of your pages that the public can see. If you choose not to make your page public, it will appear only in your private index of webpages (when you click on PageBuilder from the Home page.)

13. Click on Continue.

14. You will now get the "Ready to Publish" screen. This is where you decide whether or not to have your page listed as publicly available or not. A checkmark will already be entered into the box labeled "Include in public list." You can choose to let it be shown or "hidden" by either leaving or removing the checkmark.

15. Click on Publish in the lower right corner.

You will now see the "Congratulations" screen. It will inform you that your page is now on the web, and give you the URL of your new webpage. That URL is a 'clickable link.' You can click on it to view your new page.

From this point forward, you will edit your page by going to Home, choosing More from the left sidebar, and then selecting PageBuilder. If you create several webpages, this is where you will find your "Index."
