11. Getting Pictures for Your PageBuilder Web Site

There are a couple of ways I know to get pictures for your web site.

1. If you receive a photo as an attachment in an email, you can choose Scrapbook on the left sidebar when viewing the email. This will save the image into your Page Builder image scrapbook. First, however, you must create a web page with Page Builder, or your Scrapbook option will not appear on the left sidebar.

2. You may elect to "find" photos on the internet, and use them on your web site.

3. You may use your own photos from your photo albums at home.

In order to receive your "own" photos in email, you must first get them scanned. This means that they need to be converted from a paper photograph into a "digital" photograph. If you have a friend with a computer and a scanner, this is the preferable way to get this done. Otherwise, you will have to entrust your photos to someone you don't know in order to get them scanned.

Check with your local photographic outlets and places like Kinko's for photoscanning services. There are also some on-line sites which offer scanning of pictures. For these services, visit:

Once your photos have been scanned and emailed to you, they can be placed into your scrapbook. Do this by choosing Scrapbook on the left sidebar while you are viewing the email with the picture. From your scrapbook, the images can be transferred directly to your web site via PageBuilder. Choose Add an Item and then choose Pictures.

The other method of getting photos for your web site is to find images on the internet and use a Picture Mover or uploader to get them to your scrapbook.

You need to find the URL of the image you want to use. When you are viewing an image (or photo), and only the image is on your screen, use the Go To key and then choose Show Last. This will show you the URL, or internet location of the image. Next, press CMD + A to highlight the information in the pop-up box. Then, press CMD + C to copy the URL of the image. Now "take" the copied URL to an uploader.

Just type or "paste" the URL of the image into the text box, then use your Up Arrow to click onto "ADD TO SCRAPBOOK"

Here is an uploader for you to use!

If you cannot click onto an image to get the URL, you may be viewing the image on a web page with many images. You need to isolate the particular image's URL in order to place it in your scrapbook with an uploader. Here's how to do it.

When viewing a webpage with an image or graphic that you want, press your Go To key and click onto Show Current. Press CMD + A and then CMD + C to copy the website address into memory.

Next, go to http://www.webscissors.com/

Erase the "http://" that is already in the text box, and paste the address of the webpage you were viewing into the box. Move your cursor to Show Images and then press your Return key. You will then be shown all of the images from that page. Beside each image will be the URL for that image. Use your copy and paste skills to copy the URL of the image and then take it to my uploader to send it to your Scrapbook.

Remember to ask for permission to use the image! Many images are copyrighted, and you may not use them without permission.
